An assessor must be appropriately trained to assess people’s needs according to their nature and complexity. The assessor may be an employee of Lancashire County Council or a health professional involved in an adult’s care. The Department of Health and Social Care has published guidance for certain groups of adults that refer to their assessment for care and support. Two specific areas are for people who are deafblind and autistic people.
